The Ralston White Retreat Foundation was formed for the purpose of restoring the historic Ralston White Retreat and rededicating it to the public good. The Foundation was launched by members of the local community who saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve a unique resource on Mt. Tamalpais and make a place of great natural beauty available to the community. Among our trustees and volunteers are descendants of the Ralston White family, who strongly support the Foundation’s mission.

The Foundation’s vision is to restore the mansion and surrounding grounds to their past glory, and to make the Retreat an important venue for musical, arts, literary, educational, and children’s events and activities.

In so doing, the Foundation seeks to bring to life the historic treasure of the Garden of Allah, nurturing an appreciation for the history of Mill Valley and the beauty of Mt. Tamalpais while enriching the cultural and family life of our community. In hand with this rededication, the Retreat will continue to be enjoyed by a diverse range of groups for overnight retreats and day use.

It is a big and challenging undertaking, but with rich rewards for our community and generations to come. We hope you share our excitement.
